TEEKS' soul on show at Opera House

Community Link

Whanganui’s most recognised venue, the Royal Whanganui Opera House, hosts one of New Zealand’s most compelling modern soul voices, TEEKS, this Saturday, 12 June 2021 from 7.30pm. The TEEKS: Something To Feel tour is in support of TEEKS’ (Te Karehana Gardiner-Toi) recently-released debut album of the same name. Something To Feel is a collection of songs with a deep emotional content showcasing the artist’s connection to whānau, heritage and Aotearoa New Zealand through the lens of te ao Māori. If you’re considering hosting an event locally, the team at Whanganui District Council’s Venues & Events Ngā Wāhi Tū Me Ngā Whakaaturanga offer a wide range of options at three iconic venues – the Royal Whanganui Opera House, Whanganui War Memorial Centre and Cooks Gardens Event Centre. A dedicated team of venue professionals including venue co-ordinators and technicians work across all three locations and can assist with all your function expectations, whether for 20 or 2000 guests. For more information about the services and venues available from Whanganui Venues & Events, please call 06 349 0513 or visit: www.whanganuivenues.co.nz Tickets for TEEKS: Something To Feel are available from the Royal Whanganui Opera House Box Office at 69 St Hill Street (open weekdays 10.00am-4.00pm) or by purchasing online via Ticketek at: bit.ly/3i8o3wu
